Challenge

Client is one of the largest global banks headquartered in one of the Western European countries. Client’s particular retail app started as a card-linked loyalty platform, but after the 1st year in production their strategy changed to become a shopping platform to compete with leading marketplaces in their respective markets. The client decided to chose its personalization partner through an A/B test with the particular task to measure engagement generated by personalized push notifications for the app’s users. They were seeking for a partner providing them with a solution that is scalable and that can be utilized in several countries all over the globe. Expected # of downloads is 10 million+ in 10 countries till end of 2023. Another particular business requirement was to deploy the engine in their private Azure cloud environment after the successful A/B test.

Approach

The final scope for the pilot period was Personalized Best Offers in Push Notification and SMS. Each solution was supposed to send relevant offers for the app’s users at the right time.

Outcome

For the pilot period, the client selected a range of measures, as follows: Recall, Precision, F-measure and Conversion rate. Based on the performance of both solutions and the control group, the client selected to continue the cooperation with us and extend the scope with providing personalized listings based on several additional data sources, including real-time in-app behavior data and financial transaction data. The new scope went into production in 2020.
