Challenge
Client is the market leader consumer electronics store chain in one of the Central European countries, having two brands and over 100 bricks-and-mortar stores. The client wanted to increase its online revenue while having a positive impact on customer experience.
Approach
Two product modules were implemented during a pilot – Recommendation boxes and Search Personalization. The recommendation boxes were implemented on 5 different placements: Main page “Special offer”, 404 page, No hit page, Item page “Similar products”, Item page “Others also viewed”. As for the Search Personalization, Personalized search result ordering and Instant recommendations below the search box, aka Auto-complete were implemented.
Solution
Gross merchandising value (GMV) through recommendations, that is equal with 11% of the total online revenue annually. It has been measured as a value of conversions initiated by a click on recommended products compared to the number of recommendations displayed. Conversions are purchases within 48 hours after a click on a recommended item.
