Challenge

One of the largest mobile phone operators’  Central European subsidiary decided to transform to the digital era and one of the key elements of this plan was personalization of their web page and e-com store. The client wanted to A/B test client’s own developed algorithms against an external professional.

Approach

As a first step, four Recommendation Placements were selected as scope for the test. These were implemented on the Main page “Recommended for you”, Device page “You could be also interested in”, Marquee page “Recommended for you” and on Search page (listing). For a second phase, three Triggered Emails were also involved into a testing.

Outcome

During the pilot period, our recommendations resulted in 29%-higher click through rate (CTR)  and 54% higher sales, compared to client’s own developed algorithm. For triggered emails the result was 23% higher conversion compared to the other solution. It was measured as a number of transactions coming from triggered emails divided through the number of webpage visits coming from triggered emails.
