Challenge
The client is one of the consumer electronics store chains in South-East Asia. They wanted to partner up with a vendor to implement personalization on their website in order to generate an uplift in revenue.
Approach
Eight placements were selected and implemented during the pilot period. Scenarios included Recommendation Boxes on After purchase page, Search result page, No result page “Interesting”, Item page “Other products from the store”, Category listing page “Recommended for you”, Main page “Recommended for you”, Small domestic appliances category page “Recommended for you” and Promotion collection page.
Outcome
Gross merchandising value (GMV) through recommendations is 2,5M USD annually. It has been measured as a value of conversions initiated by a click on recommended products compared to the number of recommendations displayed. Conversions are purchases within 48 hours after a click on a recommended item.
