Challenge

Client is one of the largest telecommunications provider in Europe. Their Central European subsidiary offers its TV content and VOD catalog for their clients, available on any device. To compete with other streaming services they needed an effective personalization solution. The client decided to measure added value of personalization in an A/B test against a non-personalized control group.

Approach

9 placements were selected and implemented during the pilot period. Scenarios include Recommendation boxes on Film page, Film data page, TV page, Articles page, Special recommendations, New content, Last time among films, Adult and Offers by genres, both on the OTT platform and VOD storefront.

Outcome

During the pilot period, our recommendations resulted in 10% more VOD income compared to the control group. It was measured as comparison of the uplift between personalized and non-personalized group.
